Frequently asked questions

The job is not missing a renewal. Here’s what’s free, where your data lives, and how to leave.

What is ChaosOps?
A private household and business workspace for renewals — bills, insurance, registrations, warranties, domains, and compliance — and the documents behind them, with email alerts before anything lapses.
Is it an AI product?
No — the renewal job works without AI. The AI assistant and AI document extraction are paid-plan capabilities layered on top of your records; they are not required to get value.
What's free and what's paid?
Free covers the core job: the record modules, the document vault, CSV export, and email alerts. Paid plans add the AI assistant, AI extraction, and inviting team members. Public paid checkout is not live yet; pilots are invoiced directly.
What does it cost?
Public paid checkout is not live. Free signup can use the modules, vault, and alerts today. Pilots are invoiced in a range agreed up front — there is no published list price yet.
Where does my data live?
In Supabase Postgres with private file storage, isolated per workspace by row-level security so one workspace can never see another's data. See the Security page for details.
Do you connect to my bank?
No. Bank linking (Plaid) exists in the code but is turned off; nothing reads your accounts.
Is this tax, legal, financial, or medical advice?
No. ChaosOps is an organizational tool. Summaries and alerts are not legal, tax, financial, insurance, investment, or medical advice.
How do I cancel or leave?
Email support@chaosops.ai. There is no lock-in and no live subscription to cancel — you can export your data as CSV (and your workspace) and leave at any time.

Why renewals are worth tracking

Household admin is real, recurring work, and recurring spend is easy to underestimate:

  • On an average day, 80% of people did household activities and spent about two hours on them (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, American Time Use Survey 2024, USDL-25-1060). Source.
  • 18.6% of people did household management on an average day (BLS ATUS, 2025 annual averages). Source.
  • Consumers’ offhand guess at their monthly subscription spend averaged $86, but itemized spend averaged $219 (C+R Research). Source.

These figures describe the pain ChaosOps addresses — admin time and forgotten recurring spend. They are not a market-size claim.
